Your tongue and roof of your mouth should also be brushed as these can harvest bacteria too. It’s advised that you brush your teeth after every meal but if that’s not possible then try to brush at least twice a day.
Flossing is something that is often overlooked when it comes to oral hygiene. There are certain areas in your mouth that a toothbrush can’t reach. This is where flossing become invaluable. Flossing is extremely effective at getting to the hard to reach areas between your teeth to ensure that you’re removing any dirt or bacteria that could be lingering and causing your teeth to decay. Soda and certain types of alcoholic drinks are often full of sugar. White wine and cocktails in particular. Too much of these types of drinks can cause teeth to decay due to the high amounts of sugar in the drinks. Try to cut back on these or switch to sugar free drinks. You’ll notice the difference in the long run and your teeth will thank you. Coffee is also a well known culperet for staining teeth. Too much coffee can leave teeth looking stained and yellow.
